Handling Your Catch
The
captain will clean and, if you wish, fillet and bag your catch. There are
DFO regulations for possessing, cleaning and transporting that will be explained
and followed. Time for your fishing adventure will usually end when Captain
Paul gives you your
cleaned
catch.
There are a few commercial canneries on Vancouver Island that offer smoking, canning, and shipping services. One that CP personally uses is St. Jean's Cannery in Nanaimo...they do tasty smoked salmon, both in the freezer pack and in the can. Fish can be prepared and sent by air to Canada, Europe, and the United States through these facilities. The captain can advise you.
